U.S. Strikes Iranian Nuclear Sites, Marking Major Escalation in Middle East

The United States has launched a dramatic military intervention in the Middle East after President Donald Trump ordered airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites, escalating tensions with Tehran and reshaping the geopolitical landscape of the region.

In a late-night address from the White House, Trump confirmed that the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities were targeted with Massive Ordnance Penetrators “bunker buster” bombs dropped from six B-2 stealth bombers. The president declared the mission a “spectacular military success,” claiming that the sites had been “totally obliterated.”

“Our objective was the destruction of Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity and a stop to the nuclear threat posed by the world’s No. 1 state sponsor of terror,” Trump said in his speech from the White House Cross Hall, flanked by top national security officials.

He issued a stark warning to Iran:
“Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace. If they do not, future attacks will be far greater and a lot easier.”

Trump also stated he remains open to diplomacy but emphasized that the U.S. had acted to eliminate an imminent threat.

Sources confirmed to CNN that 12 bombs were dropped on the Fordow facility, using the GBU-57A/Bs — among the most powerful non-nuclear bombs in the U.S. arsenal, specifically designed to destroy deeply buried targets.

The move has drawn sharp reactions and renewed fears of a broader regional conflict, especially amid divisions within Trump’s political coalition over deepening U.S. involvement in the Middle East.
