FG Includes Chinese Language to Nigerian Secondary School Curriculum

The Federal Government has officially added the Chinese language, Mandarin, in the national curriculum for senior secondary schools across Nigeria.

FCT Education Secretary, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, made the announcement during the launch of Abuja’s 14th Chinese Corner. He emphasized Mandarin’s growing global relevance in commerce, education, culture, and international relations, noting that equipping Nigerian students with the language will open new opportunities on the world stage.

The curriculum review is part of efforts to prepare young Nigerians for global competitiveness and strengthen Nigeria–China ties in education and trade.
