My Good People of Osun State,
Today, I stand before you to officially unveil the Accord Party as my new political platform and to announce my decision to seek re-election for a second term on the platform of this great party.
I joined the Accord Party more than a month ago—on November 6th—after weeks of deep consultation and sincere deliberations with stakeholders and respected opinion leaders across our state. Many of you already understand why this important decision became necessary. We are taking this step so that we can continue the good work we have started—delivering democratic dividends and good governance that have been widely applauded at home and abroad.
We chose the Accord Party because its philosophy aligns perfectly with my administration’s guiding principle: the welfare of citizens and workers first. This is the foundation of our leadership, and it is the heartbeat of Accord.
Today, I welcome our national and state leaders of the Accord Party to the Osun State Government House. You are now part of us, just as I am now fully part of you. We are united by our shared commitment to progress and our genuine love for the people of Osun State and Nigeria as a whole.
At this historic moment, our collective task is to maintain a united front as we approach the coming elections. We must uphold inclusive leadership—leadership that listens, embraces all groups, and prioritizes the wellbeing of every citizen. The Accord Party is prepared to take responsibility for the governance of Osun State and to sustain the delivery of meaningful development to our people.
Since joining the Accord Party, I have been deeply inspired by its philosophy. The emphasis on people’s welfare is exactly what public leadership should represent. Government exists for the prosperity, comfort, and wellbeing of the people—and that is what we have been committed to since day one.
As your governor, I have placed the welfare of our workers and citizens at the centre of all our policies. Day and night, we work hard to uplift the living conditions of our people. In infrastructure, in social services, and in service delivery, Osun has witnessed unprecedented progress.
Today marks the unveiling of a new platform for the good people of Osun State. From Osun West to Osun East and Osun Central—this is our party, our home, and our platform for victory come August next year.
From Igbomina to Ijeshaland, from Ifeland to Osogbo, from Iwoland to Modakeke, Gbongan, Igbajo, Ikire, Ikirun, Ede, and every community across our dear state, I call on all of you to join me. Let us thumb up for good governance and support the continuity of progress.
Osun voted for good governance in 2022, and I am confident that the people of Osun will vote for continuity in 2026. The majority of our people desire sustained development, and the Accord Party is the platform through which that victory will come.
In line with the will of our stakeholders, and in deep respect for the wishes of the people of Osun State, I hereby formally and wholeheartedly declare for the Accord Party.
