President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Tunji Disu as Nigeria’s new Inspector-General of Police, replacing Kayode Egbetokun.
A presidency source confirmed the development to ARISE News on Tuesday.
The source confirmed the development, stating that an official announcement would be made shortly. “AIG Tunji Disu is the new IGP. Confirmed,” the source said, adding that the information had received “double confirmation.”
Efforts to obtain a reaction from the Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
Further details surrounding the leadership change are expected to be released soon.
Disu recently took over as AIG Force CID Annex, Alagbon, Lagos.
He is a thoroughbred police operational officer with proven records of remarkable performance and enduring reforms in previous postings.
