Sodade-led Remo North Administration Commissions 12 Lock-up Shops and 8 Open Stalls, Facilitated by Ayodeji Dada
The Sodade-led Remo North administration has commissioned 12 newly constructed lock-up shops in Ward 7, Ipara Remo, in a project facilitated by the councillor representing Ipara Remo Ward 7, Hon. Ayodeji Dada.
The shops were commissioned on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, as part of efforts to provide organised and improved trading spaces for micro-entrepreneurs, traders and artisans in the community.
The project, located in Ojo-Oba, Ipara Remo, was facilitated by Dada in collaboration with the executive arm of the local government.
Speaking at the commissioning, the Executive Chairman of Remo North, Otunba Muyiwa Sodade, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development and commended Dada for his efforts towards the completion of the project.
Sodade said the project demonstrated the importance of collaboration between the executive and legislative arms of the local government in addressing the needs of residents at the grassroots.
He added that the development formed part of efforts to improve market infrastructure and support commercial activities across the local government area.
In his remarks, Dada, who represents Ipara Remo Ward 7, expressed appreciation to the chairman for approving and executing the project.
He noted that the 12 shops would provide more organised and secure trading spaces for residents, while helping local traders and artisans improve their businesses and earning capacity.
Dada said the project would also help address the shortage of proper trading spaces in Ojo-Oba and provide opportunities for more residents to engage in legitimate commercial activities.
He added that the project was conceived in response to the needs of residents and assured that more community-driven initiatives were being considered for the ward.
Market leaders at the event commended the local government administration and Dada for the project and pledged to ensure proper maintenance and utilisation of the facility.
The commissioning was attended by Hon. Ganiu Hamzat, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; High Chief Kola Ogunjobi; Hon. Adebiyi Adeleye, former Special Adviser and APC candidate for the Ogun State House of Assembly; Hon. Emiola Gazal, Senior Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy; Hon. Arole Bello, Special Adviser; community leaders, market associations, youth groups and residents.
The 12 lock-up shops have been completed and are available for allocation and commercial use.
