Int’l Widows Day: Senator Yayi’s wife fetes 250 widows to skill acquisition, tools and cash grants

The CHADASH Empowerment Foundation, founded by Chief Mrs. Temitope Adeola, wife of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI), has marked International Widows' Day 2025 with a life-changing empowerment program for 250 widows across Ogun West Senatorial District. The foundation provided intensive vocational training in various income-generating skills to widows carefully selected from all five Local Government Areas of Ogun West. The training, designed to promote self-reliance, dignity, and long-term economic stability, equipped the widows with essential tools and equipment to launch or expand their trades.

To further boost their economic prospects, each beneficiary received a cash grant of N50,000 to support their business ventures. The program aims to ensure inclusive economic empowerment for historically marginalized groups, restoring dignity and rebuilding lives.

The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Olori Omotayo Olugbenle, wife of the paramount ruler of Yewa; Chief Mrs. Maltida Iyabo Apampa; Chief Mrs. Aminat Adigun, APC State Women Leader; Hon. Bisi Oyede, member representing Ipokia/Idiroko State constituency; and Otunba Tunji Idowu, a former party chairman in Yewa South. Their presence underscored the significance of this laudable cause and highlighted the foundation's commitment to empowering vulnerable widows and promoting economic stability in the region.

The CHADASH Empowerment Foundation's impactful program marks the beginning of a new chapter for the empowered widows, one of resilience, productivity, and contribution to family and society. As these strong and determined women return to their communities with renewed hope, they are poised to make a positive impact on their families and communities.
