Army Day: We’ll Not Relent in Protecting Nigerians, Safeguarding Democracy – COAS Oluyede Vows
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, has reiterated the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to ensuring national security and preserving the country’s democratic institutions. Speaking ahead of the 2025 Nigerian Army Day Celebration, Oluyede emphasized that troops across the country remain resolute in confronting all threats to peace and sovereignty.
Themed “Developing the Soldier First Concept”, the Army Day celebrations will run from July 4 to 6, featuring civil-military projects in Kaduna, public lectures, free medical outreaches, charity events, and a grand military parade. Oluyede highlighted the Army’s drive for innovation, research, and welfare development as core to building a modern and responsive force.
He further assured Nigerians that enemies of peace, including terrorists and insurgents, will continue to face decisive resistance. “We will not allow anyone or group to destroy the cultural and territorial integrity of our nation,” the COAS said, underscoring the Army's frontline role in securing Nigeria's future.
