David Mark dumps PDP, emerges ADC Interim Chairman in opposition coalition push

Former Senate President, David Mark, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined a newly formed opposition coalition. In a letter dated June 27 and addressed to PDP leadership in Benue State, Mark cited irreconcilable internal crises and loss of democratic values within the party as his reasons for exiting.

Shortly after his departure, Mark was unveiled as the Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the adopted platform for the coalition aiming to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027. He will serve alongside former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, who assumes the position of Interim National Secretary.

The coalition, backed by prominent PDP figures like Atiku Abubakar, Sule Lamido, and Uche Secondus, has called on all Nigerians to unite under ADC for national renewal. Their agenda includes reforms in security, economy, democratic governance, and anti-corruption.
