The APC Youth League, Ondo State, on Tuesday joined other stakeholders at the Farmers Empowerment Programme held in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area. The event was organised by the Akin Akintayo Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation under the leadership of Ambassador Akintunde Akintayo, a Nigerian born police officer currently serving in Washington D.C., United States of America.
The empowerment programme brought together farmers from across the local government, who received various farm tools and materials including water pumps, hoes, cutlasses, rain boots, and agrochemicals. In addition to the agricultural support, participants also benefitted from free medical check-ups and free drugs provided at the venue.
The APC Youth League was represented by Comrade Lawal Tosin, State Coordinator, and Comrade Adebayo Lawrence, the State Public Relations Officer, who also doubles as the Ondo State Chairman of the Nigeria Youth Congress (NYC).
Speaking at the event, Comrade Lawal Tosin appreciated Ambassador Akin Akintayo for his consistent efforts in giving back to his community, describing the initiative as a timely intervention for local farmers. He encouraged the Foundation to continue its laudable efforts in supporting grassroots development, especially in critical sectors like agriculture and health.
The event clearly demonstrated the strength of youth-driven impact, and how young leaders can work together to bring real change to their communities.
We also had a one stop courtesy Visit to The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ile-oluji , Dr. Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku. Where possible areas of collaborations between the Akin Akintayo Foundations and The great citadel of learning was discussed.
