Akarigbo Installs Five New Monarchs in Remoland, Charges Them on Service, Sacrifice

In a historic ceremony steeped in tradition and royal pageantry, Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, has officially installed five new royal fathers, tasking them to view their new positions as a call to service, sacrifice, and stewardship.

The installation ceremony, which took place at the Akarigbo Royal Event Hall in Ita-Oba, Sagamu, saw the formal presentation of staffs of office to the newly crowned monarchs, who will now oversee the affairs of their respective communities.

The newly installed Obas are: HRH Oba Olusola Ayobola Jayesimi as the Eleyin of Eleyin; HRH Oba Amusa Hassan Vincent as the Gbelegbade of Irepodun Emuren; HRH Oba Oladuni Olayinka Ifagbemi as the Oloke of Ariko, Sagamu; HRH Oba Sunday Oladimeji Osho as the Elewuga of Ewuga, Sagamu; and HRH Oba Bilau Hassan Kehinde as the Oloke of Oke Ona, Emuren.

In his address, Oba Ajayi emphasized that the ceremony was more than a traditional rite. "This was not merely a tradition fulfilled, but a solemn transfer of responsibility—a reminder that leadership in our land is service, sacrifice, and stewardship," he stated.

The event witnessed a large turnout of dignitaries, traditional chiefs, and community members. Notable attendees included the Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Honourable Afolabi Odulate (AFO); the Vice Chairman, Honourable Isiaka; revered Obas from across Remoland; and the Akarigbo-in-Council, led by the Lisa.

The Paramount Ruler extended his gratitude to all who graced the occasion, praying for wisdom, humility, courage, and compassion for the new monarchs as they ascend their ancestral stools. He expressed confidence that their reigns would strengthen peace, preserve customs, and foster development in their domains and throughout Remoland.
