1. PREAMBLE
The Remo Legislative Council, comprising all the democratically elected Councillors under the aegis of the Remo Councilors’ Forum, representing all the political wards across the three Local Government Areas (Sagamu, Ikenne, and Remo North) of the Remo Federal Constituency, convened an extraordinary Legislative Summit. The summit evaluated the progress, grassroots development, and socio-political stability of Remoland under the progressive banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Following the intensive deliberations on continuity and effective governance, the Council unanimously resolved on a formal declaration of support and total endorsement for the party’s selected candidates ahead of the upcoming electoral cycles.
2. CORE RESOLUTIONS & STRATEGIC DECLARATIONS
• UNCONDITIONAL ENDORSEMENT OF GOVERNOR DAPO ABIODUN FOR SENATE: The Council strongly align with the wider Remo APC leadership to endorse State Governor, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, as the sole candidate for the Ogun East Senatorial District seat. Having witnessed the transformative impact of the ISEYA agenda of His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration —from the construction of over 1,500km of roads to the completion of the Gateway International Airport, the review of the state government’s developmental strides in road infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, youth empowerment, social welfare, and security, the Ogun East Councilors' Forum declared our "unwavering and unalloyed loyalty" to Governor Dapo Abiodun. It is on this foundation of "Building Our Future Together" that we formally endorse Prince Dapo Abiodun for continued leadership.
• ENDORSEMENT OF HON. FUNMI EFUWAPE FOR HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES: The Remo Legislative forum officially endorsed Hon. Funmi Efuwape (popularly known as FAECO) as our sole consensus candidate for the Remo Federal Constituency seat in the Federal House of Representative. This endorsement is a direct reflection of our commitment to equity, fairness, political stability, harmonious representation, and democratic progress within Remoland. Hon. Efuwape brings unmatched administrative competence, having served exemplarily as a former Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, and Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs.
• VOTE OF CONFIDENCE IN PARTY LEADERSHIP: The legislators pass a total vote of confidence in the Ogun State APC State Working Committee and the local government party structures for maintaining internal cohesion and discipline.
Hence, the forum formally and officially declared our total support for the current Governor's transition to the Ogun East Senatorial seat, Hon. Funmi Efuwape, Remo Federal Constituency seat, and all the four Ogun state House of assembly candiates; namely Hon. Adebiyi Adeleye (Remo North), Hon. Seyi Odumiywa (Ikenne), Hon. Damilare Bello (Sagamu 1) and Hon. Olapeju Ayodele (Sagamu 2) through a motion moved by Hon. Ayodeji A. Dada, Ward 7, Remo North L.G., seconded by Hon. Muyideen Alayo , Ward 3, Sagamu L.G. and was unanimously adopted by all participants.
3. DIRECTIVES FOR GRASSROOTS MOBILIZATION
• Constituency Penetration: All local lawmakers must immediately return to their respective wards to activate unit-by-unit campaign structures.
• Voter Sensitization: Councilors must spearhead community voter education to explain the socio-economic benefits of electing proven, progressive candidates.
• Opposition Mitigation : The Council calls on all loyal party faithful to resist external political distractions and maintain absolute unity to deliver a clean sweep at the polls.
4. CONCLUSION
The Remo Legislative Council stands resolutely unified behind the progressive ideals of the APC. The Council pledges its total machinery, individual goodwill, and collective network to deliver a resounding electoral victory for all endorsed candidates.
