The 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Member, House of Representatives, Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency, Hon. Mrs. Olufunmilayo Efuwape, popularly known as FAECO, on Sunday, September 20th, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, Alayeluwa Oba Ezekiah Rasheed Adetayo, the Oselu of Okeselu, at his royal palace in Okeselu, Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The visit was part of FAECO’s ongoing engagements with traditional institutions and communities across the constituency as she prepares for the 2027 electoral process. She sought the royal father’s counsel, support and blessings as she embarks on her political journey towards the 2027 election.
Receiving FAECO and her delegation at the palace, Oba Adetayo warmly welcomed them and used the occasion to highlight some of the developmental needs and priorities of Okeselu community. The traditional ruler expressed his expectations for meaningful interventions that could improve the socio-economic wellbeing of the community, particularly in areas affecting road construction, employments, rural development and local agriculture.
In her response, FAECO expressed appreciation to the royal father for the warm reception and described her relationship with Oba Adetayo as a cordial father-and-daughter relationship built on mutual respect and goodwill. She assured the monarch that the development of rural communities remains an important part of her vision for Remo, stressing that sustainable development must extend beyond urban centres to communities where residents depend largely on agriculture and other grassroots economic activities.
Demonstrating her immediate commitment to one of the developmental concerns raised during the engagement, FAECO donated the sum of One Million Naira (₦1,000,000) to support local farmers in Okeselu, particularly those involved in small-scale agricultural farming.
The gesture, according to her, was intended to provide practical support for farmers and contribute to strengthening agricultural activities at the grassroots. She reiterated her commitment to listening to communities, understanding their specific needs and supporting initiatives capable of improving livelihoods.
FAECO also appealed to the electorate across Okeselu and the wider constituency to remain actively involved in the democratic process ahead of the 2027 elections. She called for continued support and votes for the APC candidates across the various levels of government.
Speaking on behalf of the Okeselu community, a chief from the palace expressed appreciation to FAECO for what he described as a generous and timely gesture towards the community farmers. He assured the delegation that the donated funds would be carefully monitored by the Okeselu-Traditional-in-Council to ensure that they reach the intended beneficiaries and are utilised specifically for the purpose for which they were provided.
The courtesy visit ended with renewed discussions around grassroots development, agriculture, community engagement and the need for continued collaboration between political representatives, traditional institutions and local communities in advancing development across Remo Land.
