The political momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections received another boost on Thursday, September 3, 2026, as the Mafe Political Movement, a grassroots political organisation established in honour of the late Hon. Asiwaju Yinka Mafe, former Majority Leader of the Ogun State House of Assembly, paid a courtesy and familiarisation visit to the APC candidate for the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency, Hon. Mrs. Olufunmilayo Efuwape (FAECO), at her campaign office in Sagamu, Ogun State. Led by its Coordinator, Dr. Lawal Ismail Akinlade, the delegation expressed its appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed its commitment, loyalty and support towards the emergence of FAECO and the success of all APC candidates across Remo Land in the 2027 elections. Dr. Akinlade highlighted the movement's growing grassroots influence, extensive membership and strong presence across the 35 wards of the Remo Federal Constituency, signalling a renewed determination to mobilise its structure for the party's success.
Also present at the engagement was the APC candidate for Sagamu I (Ofin) State Constituency, Hon. Damilare Mohammed Bello, who commended the leadership and members of the Mafe Political Movement for preserving the political ideals, values and enduring legacy of the late Hon. Yinka Mafe. He urged members to remain steadfast in their commitment to the APC and operate within the directives and established structures of the party. In her response, FAECO expressed profound appreciation to the movement for its solidarity, goodwill and unwavering support.
She emphasised that the road to 2027 must be anchored on unity, loyalty, discipline and collective responsibility, stressing that the success of individual candidates is inseparable from the overall strength and victory of the APC.
