IKENNE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN, HON. JAMIU MOHAMMED ASIMI PRESENTS N6.298BN APPROPRIATION BILL TO LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

The Chairman, Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Jamiu Mohammed Asimi has presented a total of N6,298,669,070 (Six billion, Two hundred ninety eight millions, Six hundred and sixty nine thousand and seventy naira) to the legislative council as the proposed Budget for 2025. 

Speaking during the presentation, the Chairman, said the Budget would make up of N4.875 billion as recurrent and N1.423billion as capital expenditure.

Giving highlights of the Appropriation, the Chairman said the sum of N1,518,819,070 would go for Personnel Cost, N1,750,000,000 for CRFC while N706,650,000 would be spent on Overhead cost, N500,000 ,000 to Social Contribution and N400,000,000 for Social benefit.

Hon. Jamiu listed some of the capital projects for the year 2025 as Agriculture, Continuous provision of portable waters from boreholes and deep wells, Continuous provision and maintenance of infrastructural facilities, Continuous provision of primary health care facilities and equipment, Grading and rehabilitation of rural roads and other development projects plans within Ikenne Local Government.

On the funding of the 2025 Budget, the Chairman said an estimated N91,292,000 would come from the council Internally Generated Revenue(IGR), N250m from Allocation from State Government Account while N5,448, 377,070 would come from Statutory Allocation from Federation Account and N509,000,000 from Grants and Aids.

The Chairman lauded the efforts of career officers for their support and cooperation, also appreciating the legislative arms for their steadfastness, promising to strive hard to improve the living standard of the citizenry.

While speaking, the Leader of the House, Hon Michael Odujoko, commended the Chairman's developmental efforts, saying the legislative Council would ensure that the budget receives accelerated consideration and speedy passage in the interest of the people.

The event had in attendance, the Vice Chairman, Hon Olaitan Efuwape, the Secretary of the Council, Hon. Ifetayo Ifede, the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), the Director General Services and Administration (DGSA), all Directors in the Council and Head of the Units, the Leader of the House, Hon Michael Odujoko and all other Honourable Councillors and many others.
