Fubara Disowns 2027 Campaign Materials, Calls for Peace in Rivers State
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has distanced himself from branded caps and shirts allegedly promoting his candidacy for the 2027 general elections. He said he was shocked and angered after seeing a viral video of the campaign materials, stressing that he never authorized such production.
Speaking in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Fubara emphasized his commitment to restoring peace and stability in the state rather than engaging in premature political campaigns. He urged his supporters to focus on unity and development, not distractions that could derail governance.
The governor’s remarks come shortly after a reconciliation meeting brokered by President Bola Tinubu between him and Minister Nyesom Wike. Fubara reiterated that his current mandate is to work for the people and ensure the state moves forward harmoniously.
