Olubadan’s Death: Gov. Makinde Receives Family Delegation, Pledges Government Support
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has officially received a delegation from the family of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who passed away recently.
The delegation, which visited the governor on Monday, included prominent figures such as:
Bayo Oyero, former President-General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes and Aare Mayegun of Ibadanland, Osuolale Olakulehin, younger brother of the deceased monarch, Olasumbo Owolabi, son of the late Olubadan.
In a statement issued by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Governor Makinde expressed his condolences and affirmed that the Oyo State Government will fully support the family during this mourning period.
“We will stand by the family and ensure that the late Olubadan receives a befitting burial in line with the honour and dignity his reign brought to Ibadanland,” the governor said.
Governor Makinde praised the contributions of the late monarch to the development and unity of Ibadan and Oyo State at large, describing him as a custodian of peace, tradition, and progress.
Further announcements regarding burial arrangements are expected from the Olubadan-in-Council in collaboration with the state government.
