Keyamo Warns Airlines: Flying KWAM1 Could Earn You a Ban

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has placed Fuji legend King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM1) on Nigeria’s No-Fly List after an altercation at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) had earlier suspended two ValueJet pilots over the same incident, describing their actions as a breach of international safety protocol.

According to official reports, KWAM1 attempted to board a Lagos-bound flight carrying a liquid substance, which aviation security resisted. In protest, the singer allegedly positioned himself on the tarmac, blocking the aircraft from taxiing. Keyamo condemned the act as “totally unacceptable” and likened it to a hostage situation, while also faulting the pilots for taxiing without clearance despite the obstruction.

The minister directed all domestic and international airlines to comply with the no-fly directive, warning that any carrier transporting KWAM1 risks losing its operating licence. He stressed that safety and justice require equal accountability for both passengers and crew when aviation rules are broken.
