In a candid interview with Zeze Mills, the Koroba hitmaker admitted she made “mistakes” in past relationships by “dating down” and focusing solely on love without considering financial compatibility.
“I used to make the mistake of dating down, saying I don’t care if you’re not making money, it’s just love. But now, I think I need someone that just has money. Love is really nice, but you can judge me for wanting a wealthier person if you want,” Savage said.
She added that after years of trying the other approach, she wants to experience what it’s like to date someone who is wealthier.
Savage was married to her former manager, Tunji Balogun, aka Teebillz, in 2013, but they divorced in 2018. The union produced a son, Jamil.
