The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) declared Osho winner after he polled 1,730 votes out of the 1,741 total votes cast across the ward's 18 polling units.
Announcing the result, the Returning Officer, Mr. Olusogo Otelaja, said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received five votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) secured four votes.
Otelaja noted that voting commenced at 8:00 a.m. and proceeded peacefully across all polling units, with adequate security deployed to maintain order throughout the exercise.
He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of voters, party agents and electoral officials, describing the election as orderly and incident-free.
Speaking on the exercise, OGSIEC Chairman, Mr. Babatunde Osibodu, represented by Commissioner Mrs. Gbemi Onasanya, described the bye-election as peaceful, free and credible.
Osibodu commended residents of the ward for their peaceful participation and praised electoral officials and security agencies for their professionalism during the voting and collation processes.
Also commenting on the election, the Chairman of Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Jamiu Asimi, lauded OGSIEC for conducting what he described as a smooth and transparent exercise. He also commended Governor Dapo Abiodun's administration for its developmental efforts across the state.
In his acceptance remarks, the newly elected councillor, Mr. Osho, thanked the electorate for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work diligently in advancing development within the ward.
He also expressed appreciation to Governor Abiodun and promised to collaborate with the local government administration to improve the welfare of residents.
Some voters, including Messrs. Kehinde Fasola and Moses Adewuyi, who spoke at the collation centre, described the election as peaceful, transparent and well-organised.
The bye-election was conducted to fill the vacancy created by the death of the former councillor representing Iperu III Ward 5, Hon. Nurudeen Bakare.
